Empire State Building to Statue of Liberty

Hop on a memorable journey from the Empire State Building to the Statue of Liberty with three transportation options: subway, ferry and bus.

Subways:

  • Start at the subway station near the Empire State Building.
  • Choose the subway to Battery Park or South Ferry.
  • Get off at the station near Battery Park.
  • Follow the signs to the Battery Park ferry terminal.

Cruising boats:

  • Head to the Battery Park ferry terminal.
  • Buy a special boat ticket for the Statue of Liberty.
  • Climb aboard the boat and enjoy a scenic cruise to Liberty Island.
  • Descend to the Statue of Liberty.

Bus:

  • Find a bus stop near the Empire State Building.
  • Take a bus to Battery Park or the southern tip of Manhattan.
  • Get off at a bus stop near Battery Park.
  • Walk to the Battery Park ferry terminal.

There is no direct connection between the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty.

However, you can walk to 34 St-Herald Sq, take the subway to City Hall, walk to Brookfield Place Terminal, take a boat to Paulus Hook, and take a boat to Liberty State Park, NJ, which is accessible by boat and Liberty Island. You’ll take it to the Statue of Liberty. 

Alternatively, you can drive about 2h 3m from the Empire State Building via 34 St-Penn Station, Chambers St, Brookfield Place Terminal, Paul’s Hook, Liberty State Park, NJ, and Liberty Island.
